July
10, 2010 marked the beginning of a nine-day adventure trip for
the Scouts, Venturers and Leaders of the 35th Tecumseh Scout
group.Their route took them through Algonquin Park and on to
Davidson, Quebec for white water rafting, into Ottawa to visit
the Parliament Buildings, Canadian Museum of Civilization and
Vintage Wings of Canada, camping at Gatineau Park, LaFleche
aerial park and caves and camping at Mt. Nemo Scout camp.
The group spent two days rafting down the Ottawa River in less
than favourable weather but that didn’t dampen their spirits.
Everyone made it down the river safely, and by the end of the
trip all agreed that white water rafting was definitely their
favourite part of the week. That’s saying a lot because
zip-lining and visiting parliament buildings for the first time,
visiting the Canadian Vintage Wings Museum and seeing such
breathtaking scenery are awesome memories.
Everyone was both happy and sad to return home because this
Ottawa trip was one of the best experiences ever. The 35th give
many thanks to their leaders who put the trip together and put
so much hard work into making it memorable.
